Cork City Gaol

Cork City Gaol

Cork City Gaol and Radio Museum is easily accessible when you take our hop on/hop off tour from the city centre and is both fun and informative. This gaol was built in 1824 once housed 19th century prisoners! Visitors get a fascinating insight into day-to-day prison life at a time when the high walls ensured no escape and denied law-abiding citizens the opportunity to see the magnificent castle like building. At the same location and uniquely situated in the former Governor’s House, is the Radio Museum Experience incorporating a restored broadcasting studio and audio visual displays.
